Amazon is seeking a Senior Manager for Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) in their Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) division. This crucial role will provide direct support to North American regions, including Customer Fulfillment, Logistics, and Transportation Services. The position combines technical program management with safety oversight, requiring expertise in regulatory compliance, data analytics, and stakeholder management.

The role involves managing critical safety programs, addressing technician concerns, and implementing network-wide safety standards. You'll collaborate with various teams including Operations, Engineering, R&D, and Amazon Robotics to enhance safety protocols and procedures. The position requires strong leadership skills to drive safety ownership and customer obsession while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities include managing safety concerns, implementing network actions, reviewing incidents, and partnering with equipment manufacturers and service providers. You'll also be instrumental in improving WHS Program requirements and maintaining strong relationships with third-party RME companies.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of program management and cross-functional experience, with a bachelor's degree preferably in Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean techniques, and MySQL is required. The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $136,200 to $225,200 annually, plus comprehensive benefits including medical coverage, parental leave, and 401(k).

Responsibilities For Sr. Manager WHS-RME, Workplace Health & Safety

  • Develop working relationships with RME and WHS stakeholders
  • Address and escalate Technician Safety Concerns
  • Manage RME Safety Network Actions (RSNA)
  • Review incidents and develop WHS Alerts
  • Partner with equipment OEMs and various teams on safety-related issues
  • Engage with RME 3rd party service providers
  • Improve NA WHS Program requirements
  • Support RME Leadership in improving Technicians engagement
  • Maintain RME Portal for safety communications
  • Stay current with changing regulations and WHS performance

Requirements For Sr. Manager WHS-RME, Workplace Health & Safety

MySQL
  • 7+ years of program or project management experience
  • 7+ years of cross functional project delivery experience
  • 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
  • 7+ years of team management experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics
  • Knowledge of MySQL
  • Proficient with MS Excel
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques
