Description For Sr. Materials Compliance Engineer

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Senior Materials Compliance Engineer to join our innovative team. This role is crucial in ensuring our products meet global compliance standards and regulations. You'll work at the intersection of robotics and regulatory compliance, collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess components, conduct risk assessments, and drive continuous improvement in compliance processes.

As part of the Materials Compliance Team, you'll play a vital role in maintaining product safety and regulatory adherence. Your responsibilities will span from analyzing Bills of Materials to managing compliance documentation and implementing testing plans. You'll work with cutting-edge robotics technology while ensuring all materials meet strict regulatory requirements including RoHS, REACH, and EU POP.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of materials compliance experience, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative mindset. Responsibilities For Sr. Materials Compliance Engineer

  • Ensure materials meet legal/regulatory requirements including RoHS, REACH, EU POP
  • Collaborate with product design, engineering, procurement, and legal teams
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
  • Maintain compliance documentation and prepare reports
  • Enhance materials compliance processes, tools, and standards
  • Review and analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Manage and evaluate compliance data and certificates
  • Develop and execute compliance testing plans
  • Track status of change requests and updates

Requirements For Sr. Materials Compliance Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in materials compliance
  • Experience implementing materials compliance programs in product development environments
  • Deep knowledge of global materials compliance laws and regulations (RoHS, REACH, EU POP, TSCA, etc.)
  • Experience with PLM systems (Agile, TeamCenter, or similar)
  • Strong work ethic and desire to learn
  • Strong analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently and in team settings
