Amazon Web Services (AWS) Hardware Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Mechanical/Thermal/Robotics (MTR) Engineering team. This role is crucial in developing next-generation cloud platforms through innovative server infrastructure design. AWS, as the world's leading cloud platform, offers over 200 services from global data centers, serving millions of customers across all industries.

The position involves designing and optimizing server platforms with a focus on cooling and mechanical technologies for large-scale deployments. You'll work in a fast-paced environment alongside thought leaders, maintaining high standards for performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The role combines hands-on engineering work using CAD and thermal simulation tools with strategic planning and team leadership responsibilities.

As a senior engineer, you'll be responsible for mechanical design and development of complex electronic systems, conducting failure analysis, and providing technical leadership to the team. The work directly impacts AWS's global infrastructure, driving efficiency and cost savings while improving performance and reliability of their services.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of experience in mechanical design for server technologies, strong technical expertise in thermal and mechanical systems, and excellent communication skills. Linux
  • 7+ years experience in mechanical design for server technologies or Data Center applications
  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
  • Experience in server technologies such as thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity
  • Experience in compute and storage server architecture and design for large scale applications
  • Proficient with CAD tools such as Creo or Solidworks
