The Senior Manager, Quality Engineering Manager (QEM) is responsible for leading a team of Quality Engineering Managers and ensuring that our products meet the expectations of our customers. This responsibility begins early in our development phase, where the team investigates new processes and technologies that could impact the quality of the device, and mitigating these risks through the validation phases. Later the Sr. Mgr. QEM will lead the team through assessing and mitigating risks associated with our launch and first product shipments. Additionally, this role is responsible for the successful roll out of the various products in the initial months of the ramp into the marketplace.

  • Leading Quality Engineering Managers and building a high-performing team
  • Creating a vision for the team aligned with organizational goals
  • Assessing and mitigating quality risks throughout product development
  • Utilizing advanced quality methods and protocols
  • Leading cross-functional teams in Design for Quality initiatives
  • Delivering solutions to complex problems through data analysis and forensics
  • Influencing stakeholders to deliver on quality policy
  • Creating standards and building consensus
  • Determining quality-related functional milestones during NPI

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and quality, with experience in consumer electronics and advanced statistical tools. They should be able to navigate ambiguity, influence at all levels, and drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the job.

Requirements For Sr. Mgr., Quality Engineering Management, Amazon Devices and Services Quality

  • BSME/BSIE/BSEE or related Engineering degree
  • 10+ years of experience in an engineering and/or quality role
  • Understanding of technology at the system and commodity level as well as software and usability
  • 10+ years use of statistical tools like Minitab, JMP
  • 5+ years of management experience
