Description For Sr. Mobility System Engineer - Algorithm, Customer Terminal

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites aimed at providing high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. As a Sr. Mobility System Engineer on the Customer Terminal team, you'll be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge satellite communication systems. The role combines expertise in algorithm development, systems engineering, and satellite communications, working with a multi-disciplinary team to create innovative solutions for satellite mobility terminals.

You'll be responsible for developing sophisticated pointing and tracking algorithms, working with various sensors, and creating simulation tools to validate both software and hardware components. Responsibilities For Sr. Mobility System Engineer - Algorithm, Customer Terminal

  • Developing pointing and tracking algorithms for mobility terminals
  • Evaluating and fusing inputs from sensors such as GNSS, IMU, and MAG
  • Developing simulation tools to validate software and hardware
  • Developing models to validate mobility terminal-related algorithms
  • Collaborating with software engineers to implement/integrate software packages
  • Engaging with development partners on systems architectures
  • Performing in-field tests and validation
  • Up to 10% travel depending on project phases

Requirements For Sr. Mobility System Engineer - Algorithm, Customer Terminal

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Matlab, Golang
  • 5+ years of deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment
  • 5+ years of systems design, software development, operations experience
  • BS or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field
  • 5+ years in SW/HW development environment with at least 3 recent year in architectural/system role
  • 5+ years experience in development for complex telecommunication systems
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or refugee/asylee due to export control laws
