Description For Sr. Network Development Engineer, ADC Network Design, Engineering, and Solutions

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to innovation. We're seeking a Senior Network Development Engineer to join our network team for public sector regions. The ideal candidate is hands-on, autonomous, detail-oriented, with strong communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • End-to-end ownership of current and new IP networks
  • Leading design and evolution of highly available hyper-scale networks
  • Defining and influencing strategy within and outside the team
  • Automating network deployment and operations
  • Driving operational excellence projects
  • Troubleshooting complex problems
  • Hiring, mentoring, and coaching engineers

The role requires a U.S. citizen who can obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI with a polygraph. You'll join a diverse team of engineers and specialists, collaborating across AWS to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers.

Requirements For Sr. Network Development Engineer, ADC Network Design, Engineering, and Solutions

Python
  • 8+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 5+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment
  • 3+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl
  • Experience in IP networking technologies (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, TCP, SLB)
  • Network design, engineering, implementation, and/or operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Networking, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI with a polygraph
