Description For Sr. Ops Engineer, Deployment & Ramp, MSP Customer Experience

Join Amazon's Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging Customer Experience organization as a Senior Operations Engineer for Deployment & Ramp. This role focuses on transforming standalone work-cells into end-to-end integrated solutions that are safe and easy to operate, maintain, deploy, and service. You'll oversee multiple products and programs, coordinating installations at both new and existing fulfillment centers.

The position requires extensive travel (75% domestic, 5% international) and combines technical expertise with project management. You'll be responsible for installation coordination, commissioning, and performance ramp-up of automation systems. Key responsibilities include developing project plans, managing complex cross-functional projects, and driving continuous improvement in deployment cycle time and system performance.

Working within the MSP CX team, you'll collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, and internal customers to ensure successful product deployment. The role demands strong technical background in automation and material handling, with at least 5 years of project management experience. You'll need a Bachelor's degree and expertise in CAD software and project management tools.

  • Manage development of project plans and technical solutions
  • Influence decisions on deployment and machine performance execution strategy
  • Own tactical planning on installation of complex cross-functional projects
  • Own program/product strategy for annual planning of resources and budget
  • Own communication of program execution and performance
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program and product managers
  • Ensure product deployment readiness and business requirement achievement
  • Travel to project sites and collaborate with stakeholders

Requirements For Sr. Ops Engineer, Deployment & Ramp, MSP Customer Experience

Linux
  • 5+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects experience
  • Strong technical background in automated or non-automated material handling equipment
  • Experience managing project portfolios, budgets and decentralized resources
  • Experience working in a global environment
  • Ability to travel frequently up to 75% domestically and 5% internationally
  • Experience using CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360)
  • Experience with procurement of equipment
  • Experience in Robotics, Automation, distribution, manufacturing, logistics
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams/projects
  • Knowledge of Project management tools (PPM, Clarity, MPP or Jira)
