Description For Sr. Physical Design Engineer, Annapurna Labs

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Physical Design Engineer to join their Cloud-Scale Machine Learning Acceleration team. This role focuses on designing and optimizing hardware for AWS Machine Learning servers, including AWS Inferentia and Trainium Systems. The position involves working with cutting-edge custom SoCs (System on Chip) that power AWS's machine learning infrastructure.

As a Physical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for collaborating with RTL/logic designers on architectural feasibility studies, implementing complex physical designs, and ensuring high-quality outcomes. The role requires expertise in ASIC physical design, from RTL-to-GDSII implementation, and proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools.

  • Drive IO/Core block physical implementation
  • Develop physical design methodologies
  • Evaluate 3rd party IP and provide recommendations
  • Collaborate with RTL/Architecture teams

Requirements For Sr. Physical Design Engineer, Annapurna Labs

Python
  • BS + 8yrs or MS + 6yrs in EE/CS
  • 6+ years in ASIC Physical Design from RTL-to-GDSII in 7nm, 14/16nm, 20nm, or 28nm
  • Block Design using EDA tools experience
  • Deep understanding of sign-off activities
  • Scripting experience with Tcl, Perl or Python
