Description For Sr. Power Electronics Engineer, AWS Board Core Design and Services Team

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join their Board Core Design and Services Team. This role is crucial in maintaining and innovating the backbone of AWS's cloud infrastructure.

As a member of the Hardware Engineering team, you will take ownership of server power systems, bringing expertise in voltage regulators (VRs) and server-level power distribution. Your role involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers to design, develop, validate, and launch power components used in AWS servers at massive scale.

The position offers unique challenges at the intersection of hardware and cloud computing. You'll work directly on systems that power AWS services including EC2, S3, and CloudFront, making direct impacts on customer experience and infrastructure efficiency. The role requires deep technical knowledge in power electronics and the ability to drive innovation in server power delivery.

Responsibilities For Sr. Power Electronics Engineer, AWS Board Core Design and Services Team

  • Own the server power delivery design
  • Own the product Operation, AFR and Unsellable
  • Drive the power design quality
  • Drive the new gen power architecture
  • Design, develop, validate, and launch power components at large scale
  • Provide leadership for power delivery in servers
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams

Requirements For Sr. Power Electronics Engineer, AWS Board Core Design and Services Team

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in server power system design
  • 7+ years of experience with analog power electronics, power supply circuitry, and circuit protection
  • 7+ years of experience in developing power component functional specifications
  • Strong expertise in DC-DC switch mode power supplies
  • Experience with I2C, PMBUS, SVID, sensors, and monitoring
  • Experience guiding and reviewing PCB designs with Allegro, CAM350, or equivalent
