Description For Sr. Robotics Systems Engineer, Vulcan Stow Hardware and Systems

The Amazon Robotics team is seeking talented and curious engineers to join their robotic manipulation team, focusing on end-to-end robotic systems development. This role combines hardware engineering, software development, and systems integration to build cutting-edge robotics solutions at Amazon scale. The position offers an opportunity to work on complex, multidisciplinary robotics and automation problems, developing solutions that will be deployed across Amazon's operations.

As a Senior Robotics Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing robust robotic systems, working with cross-functional teams including roboticists, machine learning scientists, and hardware engineers. Responsibilities For Sr. Robotics Systems Engineer, Vulcan Stow Hardware and Systems

  • Define, expand, and explore the design space for complex, multidisciplinary robotics and automation problems
  • Identify and evaluate cross-functional tradeoffs between design alternatives
  • Break down and frame problems using concept of operations
  • Identify design choices to ensure products are safe, reliable, and usable
  • Perform technical risk assessments and devise mitigation plans
  • Define and refine metrics for measuring performance and success rates
  • Build quantitative models and analyses
  • Develop system integration and evaluation strategies
  • Drive and prioritize execution of system test campaigns

Requirements For Sr. Robotics Systems Engineer, Vulcan Stow Hardware and Systems

Python
  • BS or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Physics, or another STEM discipline
  • 6 years or more of experience with eliciting and clarifying business and end user needs
  • Experience leading technical collaborations across diverse groups
  • Experience identifying and analyzing dependencies, tradeoffs, and sensitivities across multi-disciplinary systems
  • Experience with industrial robotics and automated manipulations solutions preferred
  • Experience with machine learning systems preferred
  • Experience with developing scalable and safety-critical systems preferred
