Sr. Software Dev Engineer, Connectivity Wi-Fi

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to innovate and deliver high-performance, low-power, stable connectivity platform for world class consumer products. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop and enhance Wi-Fi and networking software for Amazon's consumer products
• Optimize Wi-Fi and network performance and power consumption for connectivity platforms
• Engage with vendors to integrate Wi-Fi chipset solutions
• Collaborate with other software teams to design and deliver unique customer features on top of Wi-Fi for next-gen Amazon products
• Provide Amazon Customer Support technical assistance to trouble shoot customer issues

Basic Qualifications:

• 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in delivering Wi-Fi/networking based products

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience in embedded development in C/C++
• 3+ years of experience and knowledge on IEEE802.11/Wi-Fi protocols such as Wi-Fi Direct, WPA, 802.11ac/ax, and etc.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP internals and common network protocols such as DHCP, DNS, HTTP, and etc.

The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
