Amazon's Alexa Audio team is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to help shape the future of audio experiences on Alexa-enabled devices. We own the audio experiences including Music, Podcast, Audio Books, Radio, and Ambient soundscapes, serving millions of customers daily. Our integration skill kits enable seamless integration with major content providers like Amazon Music, Spotify, and Apple.

The role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on features used by millions daily. We're looking for a technical leader who can drive innovation in voice-controlled audio experiences, managing a vast library of tens of millions of distinct audio content pieces across streaming services. You'll work on making content discovery and playback magical for customers, including multi-device control and seamless media transfer between devices.

As a senior engineer, you'll lead technical initiatives, mentor team members, and architect scalable solutions. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly. You'll be instrumental in building pioneering solutions to challenging problems in the audio space.

Requirements For Sr. Software Development Engineer, Alexa Audio

  • 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 7+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor other software developers
