Sr. Systems Development Engineer – SRE, Kuiper

Project Kuiper is an ambitious Amazon initiative focused on deploying a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) to provide fast, affordable broadband to underserved communities worldwide. As a Sr. Systems Development Engineer (SRE) on the Kuiper Silicon team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the development of custom communication silicon for the entire constellation.

The position involves managing and optimizing AWS-based ASIC EDA environments for a team of 300 engineers. You'll be responsible for designing and maintaining test fixtures, writing operational software and scripts, and ensuring high availability of systems. The role requires expertise in both hardware and software troubleshooting, particularly with pre-production equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deploying and optimizing AWS services for ASIC EDA environments
• Building advanced automated build, test, and release infrastructure
• Implementing best practices in code health and maintainability
• Creating robust verification frameworks that scale with systems
• Defining runbooks, standard operating procedures, and monitoring systems

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SRE/DevOps roles, cloud technologies (particularly AWS), and systems engineering fundamentals. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology in satellite communications, helping to define groundbreaking wireless solutions without legacy constraints.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $136,100 to $235,200 per year, depending on location, plus comprehensive benefits including equity and sign-on payments.
