Sr. Systems Engineer, Managed Operations

AWS is set to introduce the inaugural European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), marking a significant development in utility computing (UC). We are actively seeking experienced senior systems engineers with a strong background in automation and operations to join the AWS Managed Operations team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in building and leading operations and development teams dedicated to delivering high-availability AWS services, including EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock, exclusively for EU customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing the launch of the ESC in 2025
2. Working closely with global AWS teams
3. Influencing the evolution of AWS services and technology
4. Collaborating with technology leaders
5. Contributing to the enhancement of day-to-day operations
6. Ensuring improvements in availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency of the ESC
7. Participating in occasional "on-call" rotations to resolve out-of-hours incidents

• Part of AWS Utility Computing (UC), which provides foundational services and new product innovations
