Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to revolutionize global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). The mission focuses on delivering fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide. As a Structural Analysis Engineer on the Structural Integrity and Analysis team, you'll be responsible for the structural integrity of spacecraft and related program components.
The role demands expertise in spacecraft development, requiring a perfect balance between engineering judgment and analytical rigor. You'll work with System FEM models, develop detailed FEMs, integrate sub-system payload FEMs, and perform classical hand calculations while interfacing with various design engineering teams. Your work will directly impact the structural integrity of not just the spacecraft but all program-supporting commodities.
Key responsibilities include performing structural analysis tasks, documenting stress analysis, supporting test execution, analyzing results, and verifying structural requirements. You'll also support production activities, investigate failures, participate in trade studies, and maintain technical status reports. The role involves collaboration with multiple teams and participation in design reviews and technical interchange meetings.
This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $105,600 to $185,000 per year, depending on location and experience. Amazon provides a comprehensive benefits package and values diversity and inclusion in its workplace. The position requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency due to export control regulations.
