Description For Supplier Quality Engineer, IRQ

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team responsible for maintaining the quality standards of AWS global infrastructure. This role is crucial in ensuring the highest level of initial quality and ongoing support from vendors for AWS data centers. The position involves daily interaction with AWS Engineering teams, Procurement teams, and vendors to manage infrastructure equipment quality.

The ideal candidate will lead both internal and external engagements with various departments including engineering, procurement, supply chain management, operations, finance, and construction. They will be responsible for identifying and eliminating quality defects while maintaining AWS's high standards for availability and reliability.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure equipment, developing and implementing quality roadmaps, performing thorough on-site audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across different geographical regions.

Key responsibilities include developing supplier quality roadmaps, managing equipment lifecycle quality, performing critical-to-quality inspections, leading root cause analysis, and driving quality improvement programs. Responsibilities For Supplier Quality Engineer, IRQ

  • Develop and maintain Supplier Quality roadmap for complex electrical/mechanical infrastructure equipment
  • Manage complete equipment lifecycle quality with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Perform on-site audits to ensure suppliers meet AWS Quality requirements
  • Drive Supplier Quality Improvement Programs and track performance metrics
  • Develop critical quality parameters and perform inspections for complex equipment
  • Lead root cause analysis for complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure equipment
  • Develop new product qualification plans and drive quality programs from prototype to production
  • Perform data analysis on equipment failures and create technical reports
  • Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions

Requirements For Supplier Quality Engineer, IRQ

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical, Mechanical or Materials Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of industry experience in construction, project management, manufacturing, or operations support
  • 5+ years in quality management function with direct supplier interaction
  • Ability to travel 30-50% internationally and domestically
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
