Description For Supplier Quality Engineer, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper is an ambitious Amazon initiative focused on launching a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring aerospace-grade quality at unprecedented scale. You'll work with the Kuiper Supplier Quality team to develop a vendor base capable of meeting rigorous aerospace standards while scaling to new volume and cost levels.

The role combines technical expertise with strategic supplier management, requiring you to define requirements, deploy processes, and drive quality improvements across the supplier network. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence supplier selections, and serve as the face of Kuiper Quality to external partners. Responsibilities For Supplier Quality Engineer, Project Kuiper

  • Own and lead Kuiper supplier quality management activities
  • Guide product development teams on supplier selection, assessment, audit and development decisions
  • Partner cross-functionally to define Kuiper Quality System in compliance with AS9100 & IS09001
  • Scale supplier processes and quality systems to reduce defects
  • Establish and monitor supplier mechanisms for verifying production processes
  • Develop and execute supplier production part approval on new and revised parts
  • Represent Kuiper Supplier Quality in cross-functional initiatives
  • Travel as needed to accomplish program objectives

Requirements For Supplier Quality Engineer, Project Kuiper

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Experience leading RCCA investigations
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee due to export control laws
