The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $116,300 to $201,200 based on location, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, and 401(k). The ideal candidate will bring 6+ years of experience in electrical control systems, strong programming capabilities, and excellent problem-solving skills. Responsibilities For System Dev Engineer, Amazon Robotics

  • Design and develop controls for robotics systems and industrial automation equipment
  • Design and improve system controls architecture including machine control code, networking, electrical design and safety design
  • Develop controls code utilizing structured text and ladder-logic on Codesys and RSLogix 5000 platforms
  • Identify and implement system optimizations
  • Debug internal and field issues
  • Develop tools and best practices for system monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers
  • Contribute to value engineering of system's electrical and controls hardware components

Requirements For System Dev Engineer, Amazon Robotics

Python
Java
  • BS / MS Electrical Engineering (or similar field)
  • 6+ years of experience in electrical control systems
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, Siemens PLCs, and/or Soft PLCs/IPCs
  • Experience programming with modern languages (C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby)
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals
  • Demonstrated experience with IEC standards for electrical controls for robotics
  • Demonstrated experience with Functional Safety standards
  • Solid debugging skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • 25% travel expected
