Description For System Development Engineer, Amazon Foundational Security Services (AFSS)

This role is for a Systems Development Engineer in the Amazon Foundational Security Services (AFSS) team, located in Seattle, WA. The position involves collaborating with experienced and senior software engineers to drive improvements to technology, operate and maintain services and software solutions, and build and track metrics to ensure high-quality results.

The role includes working with both Amazon and Microsoft Entra ID IAM tooling. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining the IAM (Identity and Access Management) infrastructure of Amazon
  2. Managing and driving secure configuration and features in Entra ID tenant with AWS technology
  3. Diagnosing and fixing production issues
  4. Developing monitoring solutions for IAM services
  5. Implementing fixes for internally developed code (Microsoft DSC, Graph API, SCIM, Python, Java)
  6. Writing design documents and building new IAM solutions
  7. Automating support processes and documenting systems
  8. Managing AFSS org level operational cadence and programs

The ideal candidate will have experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure, programming skills in modern languages, and experience with Linux/Unix and CI/CD pipelines.
