Amazon's Intelligent Cloud Hosting (ICON) Team is seeking a System Development Engineer to join their Bengaluru team. This role is crucial in managing Amazon's vast web infrastructure, which powers all of Amazon's global marketplaces, partner portals, and consumer experiences including Kindle, Alexa, Amazon Video, and more. The position combines operational excellence with innovative engineering, focusing on creating and maintaining strategic SRE tools built on AWS technology.

The role involves working with a diverse international team across Seattle, New York, Dublin, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining tools that manage traffic flow through Amazon's highly distributed architecture, including orchestration, predictive analytics, monitoring, problem diagnosis, and automated repair systems.

As a System Development Engineer, you'll need strong troubleshooting abilities, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills. The position requires proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, or Ruby, along with strong Linux/Unix experience.   • Strong Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design and problem solving
  • Strong Unix/Linux OS experience

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Ruby, Python, Perl, or Java
  • Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills
  • Basic understanding of relational and object-oriented database technologies
  • Experience with distributed systems and/or large-scale web applications
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
