System Development Engineer II

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking experienced Systems Development Engineers to support their cloud computing initiatives for U.S. Intelligence Community agencies. This role combines technical expertise with strategic thinking to deliver innovative cloud solutions.

The position requires deep technical knowledge in Linux/Unix systems, shell scripting, and modern programming languages, with the ability to think at "Amazon scale" to create sustainable, scalable solutions. You'll be working within AWS's Utility Computing (UC) organization, supporting critical services like S3 and EC2, while focusing on specialized security solutions for government clients.

As a Systems Development Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, deploying, and automating systems where AWS software and services operate. This includes troubleshooting complex problems, managing deployments, conducting system validation, and maintaining service monitoring. This role requires an active TS/SCI security clearance and offers competitive compensation ranging from $116,300 to $201,200 per year, depending on location and experience.
