The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) Tech team at Amazon, part of Finance Automation, is seeking a System Development Engineer II to join their innovative team. This role is crucial in developing services and tools that power Amazon's massive corporate real estate operations across 60+ countries. You'll be working on building systems that deliver seamless workspace experiences for over half a million employees.

The position involves designing and implementing distributed systems that support various GREF domains, including space planning, design and construction, employee health and safety, and IoT-enabled building management systems. You'll be responsible for creating technology that simplifies Amazon's corporate real estate management processes while ensuring robust security measures.

As a System Development Engineer II, you'll collaborate with stakeholders, engineering teams, and product management to define business strategies, requirements, and deliver solutions. The role requires excellent technical expertise in infrastructure automation, system architecture, and modern programming languages. You'll be working with CI/CD pipelines, handling both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and maintaining critical systems that support Amazon's global operations.

Responsibilities For System Development Engineer II, Finance Automation

  • Interface with customers to understand requirements, priorities, and processes
  • Monitor and maintain systems performance & capacity planning using metrics
  • Work on expansions of current applications to support new launches
  • Identify and address risks to hardware and software
  • Build and rollout systems to multiple global regions for Finance customers
  • Create processes and systems for driving efficiencies and quality
  • Create and update infrastructure and security standards
  • Work with a wide range of technologies and technical document writing
  • Regular communication with senior management on status, risks and issues

Requirements For System Development Engineer II, Finance Automation

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
