Description For System Development Engineer, In-House Controls, Central Engineering

We are seeking System Development Engineers to join our In-House Controls team within World-Wide Central Engineering. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation solutions across Amazon's international network. As a System Development Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing, deploying, and scaling automated solutions globally.

The position requires a dynamic individual ready to travel internationally (up to 80%) and lead the deployment of automation solutions. You'll work with advanced technologies including Codesys, industrial automation systems, and handle High-Impact Events. The role combines technical expertise with leadership, as you'll be responsible for training teams and leading commissioning projects.

Our In-House Controls (IHC) team develops standardized, integrator-agnostic control systems for all AMZL automation, reducing dependency on vendors and ensuring comprehensive data collection. This approach allows for better control over development, deployment, fault finding, and future upgrades.

The role offers significant growth opportunities as the team expands to meet growing global automation demands. You'll have the chance to shape the future of automation initiatives and advance into leadership positions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset, bias for action, and the ability to lead from the front during on-site commissioning.

Working at Amazon means joining a company at the forefront of technological innovation, with a culture that values diversity, inclusion, and customer obsession. You'll be part of a team that's revolutionizing how automation solutions are implemented across a global network, with access to cutting-edge technologies and the opportunity to solve complex challenges at scale.
