Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to create a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites, aimed at providing high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. As a System Development Engineer on the Infrastructure for Over the Air software delivery Engineering (IOTA) team, you'll play a crucial role in managing software delivery to all Kuiper assets, including satellites and ground stations. This position demands expertise in building and maintaining mission-critical systems with exceptional reliability and performance requirements.

The role combines hands-on software development with systems engineering, requiring proficiency in languages like Python and Go. Responsibilities For System Development Engineer, IOTA, Project Kuiper

  • Support suite of software applications and services to update software on constellation of satellites on Ground and in orbit
  • Execute OTA procedures, troubleshoot, diagnose and fix production software issues
  • Develop tools, automation and monitoring solutions
  • Perform software maintenance and configuration
  • Implement fixes for internally developed code (Python / Go lang)
  • Update, track and resolve technical challenges
  • Improve operational excellence and readiness of the systems

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
  • Experience with Linux/Unix
