Description For System Development Manager (Software), Solid State Drives team

The AWS Hardware Engineering team is driving rapid innovation in the server and storage infrastructure used by Amazon Web Services. Our designs are fundamentally changing the data center, providing operational and financial benefits that are critical to the success of the AWS business and its millions of customers. We are looking for an experienced Software Manager with end-to-end knowledge of Solid State Drives (SSDs) from customer requirements to hardware/firmware development, validation, and deployment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of highly motivated hardware engineers and software developers with SSD expertise
  • Collaborate with internal development teams & external partners
  • Develop, deliver & operate massive fleets of world-class storage products
  • Establish strategic vision and drive execution for new products and services
  • Hire & develop engineers in your team
  • Work with customers, key stakeholders, and vendors to define features and functionality
  • Drive both immediate customer impacting issues and implement processes and automation proactively

Requirements For System Development Manager (Software), Solid State Drives team

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in software development of storage and/or infrastructure solutions
  • 5+ years of experience building and managing high performance platform and/or infrastructure software engineering teams
  • 3+ years of experience in Solid State Drives (SSD) storage field
  • Knowledge of SATA/NVMe roadmaps and drive qualification and firmware promotion process
  • Experience working with customers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to achieve results in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyze problems and direct team or work independently as required
  • Ability to coordinate with different geographic locations
