Description For Systems Dev. Engineer, IIoT, Decision Science and Technology (DST)

The Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon is seeking a Systems Development Engineer to join their global support organization. This role is crucial in maximizing equipment availability and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance through end-to-end solutions including condition-based monitoring (CBM) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions. You'll be part of a diverse team developing systems that automate data ingestion, validation, and optimization models while creating actionable signals for RME technicians.

The position offers an opportunity to work on complex supply chain problems at massive scale, utilizing cloud computing expertise to deliver solutions that maintain the highest standards of safety and reliability. You'll collaborate with software engineers, hardware specialists, and scientists to develop and maintain critical systems that support Amazon's global infrastructure.

Responsibilities For Systems Dev. Engineer, IIoT, Decision Science and Technology (DST)

  • Investigating and developing new ways to improve operations and defining new solutions to solve technically complex cloud issues
  • Investigating system variances affecting major services worldwide and solving them proactively
  • Coordinate and plan work activities for site Control Systems Engineers
  • Work with FC Operations, Operations Engineering, and other teams in supporting MHE systems optimization
  • Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems
  • Act as first level escalation support for site Control Systems Engineers
  • Perform and analyze material handling system performance
  • Partner with Operations leadership for new technology installations

Requirements For Systems Dev. Engineer, IIoT, Decision Science and Technology (DST)

  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
  • Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
