Prime Air is seeking a Systems Development Engineer to work on innovative delivery solutions using drones. The role involves defining, developing, testing, and delivering solutions for Prime Air's Drone Electric Propulsion Subsystem.
Key responsibilities include:
- Breaking down problems using con-ops, use cases, and system representations
- Driving system test campaigns in lab and field-testing environments
- Developing integration and evaluation strategies
- Performing technical risk assessments and devising mitigation plans
- Proposing changes to system architecture to improve performance and robustness
- Coordinating with other subsystems and engineers on system goals and constraints
- Generating artifacts for design reviews, validation, verification, and certification
- Conducting trade studies and cross-functional trade-offs
- Building quantitative models and analyses using tools like Excel, MATLAB, and Python

Responsibilities For Systems Development Engineer, Amazon Prime Air
- Define, develop, test, and deliver solutions for Prime Air's Drone Electric Propulsion Subsystem
- Break down and frame problems using con-ops, use cases, and system representations
- Drive and prioritize execution of system test campaigns
- Develop system integration and evaluation strategies
- Perform technical risk assessments and devise mitigation plans
- Propose changes to system architecture to improve performance and robustness
- Coordinate with other subsystems and engineers on system goals and constraints
- Generate artifacts for design reviews, validation, verification, and certification
- Conduct trade studies and cross-functional trade-offs

Requirements For Systems Development Engineer, Amazon Prime Air
- BS or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM discipline
- 4+ years of experience in systems engineering
- 2+ years of experience in design, integration, and testing of electric powertrain and power distribution systems
- Experience with eliciting and clarifying business and end user needs
- Experience leading technical collaborations across diverse groups
- Experience identifying and analyzing dependencies, tradeoffs, and sensitivities across multi-disciplinary systems
- Experience in design and analysis of safety critical systems
- Demonstrated business communication skills
- Experience with power systems, communication protocols, and embedded computing
- Experience working with aircraft or automotive electrical power systems
- Familiarity with RTCA DO-254, RTCA-DO-160, RTCA-DO-178 standards
- Experience using Jama or similar requirements database tool
