Systems Development Engineer

The Mechatronics and Sustainable Packing - Business Applications & Technology (BA&T) team is seeking a Systems Development Engineer to manage, scale and optimize our cloud-based infrastructure hosting business-critical applications.

Key job responsibilities:

• Work backwards with customers to build high-availability, resilient and fault-tolerant systems
• Stand up AWS servers, networks, VPC's, load balancers and other AWS services and infrastructure
• Scale our AWS infrastructure and services globally
• Improve network and data security
• Optimize backup/disaster recovery systems and processes
• Maintain CDK (Cloud Development Kit)
• Implement solutions that improve efficiency and optimize cost
• Support integration and migration of enterprise systems
• Maintain and optimize existing AWS infrastructure
• Support major corporate IT initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related technical field, or equal experience
• Years of design, implementation or consulting experience in applications or infrastructures
• Years of architecture, implementation, consulting experience with enterprise or SaaS applications
• Years within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience working with AWS services (e.g. S3, EC2, DynamoDB, etc)
• Demonstrated experience working with databases (e.g. DynamoDB, Redshift, Aurora)
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, PowerShell, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree or advanced technical degree
• Experience with architecting solutions that host and integrate third party business application [ALM, PLM, ERP] software on AWS
• Project management experience
• Experience with writing and publishing technical whitepapers
• Experience leading and managing cloud software services and have an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability
