AWS Infrastructure Services is at the heart of Amazon's cloud operations, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS's global infrastructure. This role is within the AWS Direct Connect capacity engineering team, which enables customers to establish dedicated network connections from their premises to AWS cloud across 91+ locations in 28 countries.
As a Systems Development Engineer, you'll work on critical infrastructure that powers AWS's cloud services, collaborating with Software Development and Network Engineering teams to develop solution architectures and automate Direct Connect network operations. You'll be writing code and managing services that directly impact customer experience, focusing on reducing network costs, increasing bandwidth throughput, and providing consistent network connectivity.
The position combines software development with systems engineering, requiring expertise in distributed systems, networking fundamentals, and cloud architecture. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing automated solutions that transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.
