Description For Systems Development Engineer, Kuiper Devices & Systems

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious low Earth orbit satellite broadband network initiative, designed to bridge the global digital divide. The Kuiper Devices & Systems (KDS) team plays a crucial role in managing client and server devices across physical, virtual, and cloud systems.

As a System Development Engineer, you'll join a fast-paced environment where innovation and automation are paramount. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining systems for managing and securing a diverse fleet of client devices. Key responsibilities include:

  • AWS infrastructure management including EC2, CloudFormation Templates, and Load Balancers
  • Building enterprise-grade AWS applications using Infrastructure as Code
  • Architecting infrastructure on AWS GovCloud
  • Implementing scalable solutions for endpoint management
  • Creating automation tools for device management
  • Ensuring security compliance with internal policies and industry standards
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams on device experiences

The position requires expertise in Mobile Device Management (MDM), Client Fleet Management, and Microsoft Intune. Daily activities involve monitoring fleet health, addressing incidents, deploying updates, and optimizing device management processes.

The compensation package is comprehensive, ranging from $116,300 to $201,200 per year based on location, plus benefits and potential equity. This role requires US citizenship due to export control requirements and is not remote-eligible.
