Description For Systems Development Engineer, Kuiper Enterprise Technology

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to revolutionize global broadband access through a constellation of over 3,000 satellites in low Earth orbit. As a Systems Development Engineer in the Kuiper Enterprise Technology team, you'll be instrumental in building the software, services, and infrastructure that power the future of LEO Satellite based broadband services.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work in an AWS-focused, builder-centric organization where you'll manage and provision AWS infrastructure, design cloud environments, and drive operational excellence. You'll be part of a high-output hybrid team of Sys Devs, SDEs, and Sys Engineers supporting Kuiper's enterprise applications.

Key responsibilities include managing AWS infrastructure (EC2, CloudFormation, AppStream), building enterprise-grade environments using Infrastructure as Code, architecting solutions on AWS GovCloud, and driving automation for scalability. You'll work closely with business and tech stakeholders to implement service infrastructure for satellite production.

The position requires expertise in automation, programming, and Linux/Unix systems. You'll be joining a team that embraces diversity and knowledge sharing, with Amazon's 16 Leadership Principles at its core. Responsibilities For Systems Development Engineer, Kuiper Enterprise Technology

  • Provision and manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, CloudFormation, AppStream, Load Balancers)
  • Design and manage cloud, on-premise and hybrid service environments
  • Build dashboarding and alarming for operational excellence
  • Build enterprise-grade AWS applications using Infrastructure as Code
  • Architect and setup infrastructure on AWS GovCloud
  • Monitor network connectivity between internal and external systems
  • Drive automation of routine tasks
  • Maintain hardware architecture documentation
