Description For Systems Development Engineer, Managed Operations

AWS is launching its first European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), a significant advancement in utility computing. This role is part of the AWS Managed Operations team, focusing on building and leading operations and development teams for high-availability AWS services like EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock, specifically for EU customers. The position involves collaborating with global AWS teams, influencing service evolution, and ensuring optimal performance of the ESC infrastructure.

As a Systems Development Engineer, you'll balance day-to-day operations with long-term software engineering to reduce operational toil. The role requires expertise in cloud systems, software development, and Linux administration. You'll work with technology leaders to enhance operations and improve service metrics across availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency.

The company offers strong career growth potential with mentorship programs and resources for professional development. Work-life harmony is emphasized, with flexible working arrangements to support both professional and personal success.

The position includes on-call rotations for incident resolution and requires strong troubleshooting skills across network, operating systems, and applications. You'll be part of AWS Utility Computing (UC), supporting various services from foundational offerings like S3 and EC2 to new innovations in compute, database, storage, IoT, and platform services.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals seeking to impact cloud computing's future while working with cutting-edge technology in a diverse, supportive environment.
