Description For Systems Development Engineer, ServiceNow, Kuiper Enterprise Technology

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

The Kuiper Production Operations team is looking for an experienced ServiceNow Administrator to join their team. This role will be responsible for the configuration, development, and ongoing maintenance of the ServiceNow platform, ensuring that it meets the needs of the business while delivering a smooth, high-quality user experience.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Utilize knowledge of development and service delivery best practices to lead design and development efforts for a team with a security, scalability, and performance mindset
  • ServiceNow Platform Management: Maintain and optimize the ServiceNow platform, including Incident, Problem, Change, Asset, and Configuration Management modules
  • Configuration & Development: Customize workflows, forms, and fields to meet business requirements
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop and refine scripts, UI policies, and business rules using JavaScript, Glide, and other scripting tools
  • User Support & Training: Provide technical support to ServiceNow users and train end-users
  • Reporting & Analytics: Build and manage reports and dashboards
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions

As a Systems Development Engineer, you will be expected to influence the business and technology direction of the team and have the ability to impact the goals of not only your direct team but partner teams and stakeholders as well. You will be counted on to define and apply the standards for engineering, test, and operational excellence best practices for your team.

Requirements For Systems Development Engineer, ServiceNow, Kuiper Enterprise Technology

JavaScript
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 3+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
  • 2+ years of experience as a ServiceNow Administrator or in a similar role, managing ServiceNow modules and configuration
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
