AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a passionate Windows Engineer to join their Controls Fleet team. This role is crucial in supporting Amazon's critical infrastructure services, powering the world's premier e-commerce and cloud computing environments. The position offers an opportunity to operate and engineer systems at massive scale, working with world-class infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will be an innovative problem-solver with excellent analytical skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment. Key technical requirements include expert understanding of Windows tools (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Hyper-V, Windows Failover Clustering, SCCM), strong PowerShell automation skills, and solid networking foundations.

As part of AWS, you'll join the team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The role involves supporting data centers, servers, storage, networking, and cooling equipment ensuring continuous customer access to AWS services. You'll collaborate across AWS teams to maintain the highest standards for safety and security while optimizing infrastructure costs.

Responsibilities For Systems Engineer, EMEA Controls

  • Develop, manage, and maintain AWS CDK pipelines
  • Lead full lifecycle of CDK pipelines implementation and optimization
  • Hardware troubleshooting and system building
  • Windows Administration tasks
  • Managing virtualized environments
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation supporting global customers
  • Implement cross-platform security measures
  • Manage core network services like DNS and DHCP

Requirements For Systems Engineer, EMEA Controls

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • 5+ years of professional experience in hardware troubleshooting, networking principles, and Windows administration
  • 5+ years of experience with virtualization technologies (VMware and Hyper-V)
  • Proficiency in PowerShell or Python scripting
  • Experience with Active Directory/LDAP, Group Policy, and system administration
  • CCNA, Network+ or equivalent certifications preferred
  • Experience with AWS services and cloud resource management
