Description For Systems Engineer, EMEA Controls

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a passionate Windows Engineer to join their Controls Fleet team. This role is crucial in supporting Amazon's critical infrastructure services, particularly in managing Windows systems and maintaining highly-available IT infrastructure at scale. The position offers an opportunity to work with world-class technology and operate systems on a massive scale within AWS's global infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will be an innovative problem-solver with expert understanding of Windows tools including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Hyper-V, and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). Strong proficiency in PowerShell and windows automation is essential, along with solid networking knowledge and hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.

As part of AWS Infrastructure Services, you'll be responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. The team supports all AWS data centers, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. This ensures continuous customer access to AWS services worldwide.

The role involves working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the entrepreneurial spirit of a start-up, while being part of Amazon's larger organization. You'll collaborate with diverse teams across AWS, including software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, and security experts. The position requires participation in 24x7 on-call rotation and occasional travel (up to 10%).

  • Proficiency in PowerShell or Python scripting
  • Experience with Active Directory/LDAP, Group Policy, and system administration
  • CCNA, Network+ or equivalent certifications preferred
