AWS is launching its first European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), a groundbreaking initiative in utility computing. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join AWS Managed Operations team, where you'll be instrumental in building and leading operations for high-availability AWS services like EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock, specifically for EU customers.

As a Systems Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of the ESC launch in 2025, working with global AWS teams to shape the future of AWS services. Your daily responsibilities will involve collaborating with technology leaders, enhancing operations, and ensuring optimal service performance across availability, reliability, latency, and efficiency metrics.

The position involves working within AWS Utility Computing (UC), which provides foundational services and continuous product innovations. You'll be part of a team supporting critical infrastructure services including Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps.

The role requires participation in 24x7 on-call rotations, demonstrating AWS's commitment to maintaining operational excellence.   • Oversee the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025
  • Work with global AWS teams to influence service and technology evolution
  • Collaborate with technology leaders to improve operations
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency of ESC
  • Participate in on-call rotations for incident resolution
