Systems Engineer, ESC Managed Operations

AWS is launching its first European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), a groundbreaking initiative in utility computing. As a Systems Engineer in the AWS Managed Operations team, you'll be instrumental in building and leading operations and development teams focused on delivering high-availability AWS services like EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock exclusively for EU customers.

Your role involves overseeing the ESC launch in 2025, collaborating with global AWS teams, and shaping AWS services evolution. Daily activities include working with technology leaders, enhancing operations, and improving availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency of the ESC.

The position requires participation in on-call rotations for incident resolution. You'll be part of AWS Utility Computing (UC), supporting various services including Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing operational health of services
• Identifying anomalies and creating bug reports
• Providing feedback on change management
• Developing and testing scripts
• Educating service teams about ESC
• Root-cause analysis and system maintenance
