Amazon's Kindle Content Organization System Architecture (Library) team is seeking a Technical Lead/Senior Software Development Engineer to join their mission of enhancing the reading experience for millions of Kindle users worldwide. This role sits at the intersection of mobile development and content management, working on one of the two most critical customer-facing components of the Kindle ecosystem.

Responsibilities For Technical Lead/Senior SDE, Kindle Content Management (Library)

  • Design and deliver high quality software in an agile environment
  • Development and maintenance of key features
  • Design scalable software systems that solve key business problems
  • Manage medium to large sized technical projects
  • Ship and review code for Library features on Kindle devices
  • Collaborate with peers, product owners, and UX designers on architecture
  • Monitor code deployment pipelines and dashboards
  • Train new team members on E-Reader and library software

Requirements For Technical Lead/Senior SDE, Kindle Content Management (Library)

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in professional, non-internship software development
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • Experience leading architecture and design of new and current systems
  • Experience programming with modern languages (Java, C++, or C#)

  • Strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional projects
