AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is seeking a Senior Water Engineer to join their EMEA Energy and Water team. This role is crucial in shaping and maintaining the water systems that support AWS's global fleet of data centers. The position combines technical expertise in water treatment with strategic infrastructure planning.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and overseeing water treatment systems, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and maintaining safe drinking water standards across facilities. They will work closely with global mechanical engineering teams to align water treatment systems objectives and manage capital allocation for project delivery.

Responsibilities For Water Engineer, AWS EMEA Energy & Water Team

  • Take primary responsibility for on-site design of safe drinking waters and water treatment plant process
  • Own on-site water system design and ensure compliance with national water law
  • Provide water treatment advice while working with global Mechanical engineering teams
  • Build and maintain overall delivery program and project budget
  • Prepare investment need/business case papers for water reinforcement projects
  • Review concept designs with third party vendors
  • Ensure water systems disinfection meets national requirements
  • Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and risk management teams

Requirements For Water Engineer, AWS EMEA Energy & Water Team

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Process and/or Mechanical engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in design engineering or construction industry
  • 5+ years experience applying local water laws and codes
  • 5+ years experience with processes of design review and specification development
  • 3+ years experience with health and safety requirements
  • Technical experience with water treatment technologies
  • Experience with performance-based alternatives to prescriptive water treatment design
  • Advanced business analytics skills
