Description For Windows Client Engineer, Region Services Corporate Infrastructure (RSCI)

AWS Region Services Corporate Infrastructure (RSCI) is seeking an experienced Windows Client Systems Engineer to join their team supporting Amazon Dedicated Cloud for U.S. Government customers. This role combines hands-on technical work with strategic system design and team leadership. The position requires deep knowledge of Windows desktop services, including virtual desktops and infrastructure.

The role is based in Amazon's new Northern Virginia headquarters (HQ2), representing a $2.5 billion investment with plans to create 25,000 new full-time jobs. The position demands an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph, reflecting its critical nature in supporting government cloud infrastructure.

As a Windows Client Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing services, including Windows build/deployment capabilities, application packaging, and troubleshooting. You'll work closely with the Security Compliance team to ensure all desktop environments meet security standards. The role requires a strong technical background and a commitment to continuous learning to keep pace with rapid technological innovations.

Responsibilities For Windows Client Engineer, Region Services Corporate Infrastructure (RSCI)

  • Provide first line of support to the IT Service Desk Team
  • Maintain Desktop OS Images/VDI templates
  • Client patching
  • Security compliance including hardening OS and desktop applications
  • Manage desktop metrics and monitoring services
  • Create and update system documentation for engineering, operations, and support teams

Requirements For Windows Client Engineer, Region Services Corporate Infrastructure (RSCI)

  • Associate's degree, or Cloud+ or GICSP or GSEC or SSCP certification
  • Five (5+) years supporting Windows family of operating systems
  • Experience with AD, DHCP, Powershell, Email workflow, SCCM, SCOM, Win OS, DNS
  • Experience administering Active Directory Windows based networks
  • Ability to script in Windows environment using PowerShell
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
