After a successful first year of product shipments, they're showing strong growth and looking to expand their capabilities.

The role focuses on bringing high-level firmware and hardware expertise to Ammortal's new products. As a Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer, you'll lead the development of embedded boards and work closely with the software team to ensure seamless integration. The position offers hands-on experience and leadership opportunities while making a tangible impact on wellness technology development.

Key responsibilities include designing and optimizing firmware for microcontroller platforms, creating new board designs, and managing hardware-firmware interfaces. You'll use advanced debugging tools to troubleshoot complex system-level issues and provide mentorship to junior team members.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience in embedded systems, strong C/C++ programming skills, and expertise in PCB layout and schematic design. Responsibilities For Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer

  • Own the design, implementation, and optimization of firmware on microcontroller platforms
  • Spearhead the creation and revision of new board designs (schematic capture, PCB layout)
  • Collaborate with the software team to integrate new hardware designs
  • Validate and refine hardware-firmware interactions
  • Drive the setup and validation of hardware-firmware interfaces
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts for prototyping, testing, and final deliverables

Requirements For Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer

  • Deep Experience with schematic design and PCB layout (KiCad, Altium, or Eagle)
  • Advanced C/C++ proficiency for microcontroller firmware and software integration
  • In-depth experience with embedded communication protocols (SPI, I²C, UART)
  • Proficiency in hardware debugging tools and understanding of signal-level diagnostics
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in embedded systems or similar engineering field
  • Exposure to advanced networking or high-speed data interfaces (preferred)
  • Familiarity with EMC/EMI compliance (preferred)
  • Experience optimizing firmware for performance, memory, or power constraints (preferred)
