As an AI Research Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of applied AI in healthcare, tackling challenging problems like overcoming anti-AI detection systems and improving call result quality. The role focuses on two critical metrics: Biller Success Rate and Call Success Rate. You'll work on implementing and evaluating solutions to unlock previously inaccessible insurance systems and substantially improve our success rates.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in LLM research, practical experience with AI agents, and the ability to quickly implement and evaluate new technologies. You'll be working with complex distributed systems and pushing the boundaries of conversational AI technology. Responsibilities For AI Research Engineer
- Explore fine tuning, prompt engineering, and agentic framework solutions
- Lead efforts to improve AI system's performance against anti-AI detection measures
- Apply multi-agent framework research to improve AI calling about claims
- Develop and implement quantitative metrics to evaluate system realism and performance
- Optimize infrastructure for reduced latency through self-hosting and model optimization
- Enhance conversational flow by addressing interruptions and question thoroughness
- Improve call quality by developing detection systems for various scenarios
Requirements For AI Research Engineer
- Experience reading and implementing LLM research papers
- Deep experience implementing and building AI agents
- Experience with complex distributed systems with async operations
- Ability to balance quick experimentation with systematic evaluation
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
- Interest in healthcare billing and revenue cycle management
