Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. As a Lead Mission Software Engineer on the C4 Engineering team, you will create new products and solutions addressing customer problems involving software, hardware, networking, autonomy/robotics, and systems integration. You'll work on products like the Menace Family of Systems to bring integrated C4 capabilities to the tactical edge.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Product Managers, Business Development, and other engineering teams
- Own C4 software solution suites deployed to customers
- Architect and design scalable systems
- Create roadmaps and execution plans
- Write code to improve products and scale mission capabilities
- Collaborate across teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality
- Create and analyze metrics for debugging and monitoring
- Triage issues and root cause failures
- Partner with end-users to turn needs into features
- Travel up to 30% of time for real-world deployment
- Brief executives and high-ranking officials
- Manage a team of talented SWEs
Required Qualifications:
- Strong engineering background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
- 5+ years leading and building agile SWE teams
- 10+ years working with various programming languages (Java, Python, C++, Rust, Go, JavaScript, etc.)
- Experience building software solutions involving hardware integrations
- Experience building scalable solutions on edge infrastructure
- Ability to quickly understand complex systems and established code bases
- Passionate about critical software with real-world impact
- Data-driven and customer outcomes focused
- Experience using AGILE methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree
- Prior military service/contractor experience with edge computing and tactical networking
- Experience at technology startups
