Senior Mission Software Engineer, Ghost

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. The Vehicle Autonomy (Robotics) team at Anduril develops aerial and ground-based robotic systems, responsible for products like Roadrunner, Ghost, Anvil, and Sentry Tower.

As a Senior Mission Software Engineer working with Ghost, you will solve a wide variety of problems involving networking, autonomy, systems integration, robotics, and more. You'll be driven by a "Whatever It Takes" mindset, executing in an expedient, scalable, and pragmatic way while keeping the mission top-of-mind.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning software solutions deployed to customers
• Writing code to improve products and scale mission capabilities
• Collaborating across teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality
• Creating and analyzing metrics for debugging and monitoring
• Triaging issues and coordinating next steps
• Partnering with end-users to turn needs into features
• Traveling up to 30% of the time for real-world deployment

Requirements:

• Strong engineering background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
• 3+ years working with C++ or Rust
• Experience building software solutions involving significant data processing and analysis
• Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases
• Desire to work on critical software with real-world impact
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance

Desired skills:

• Strong background in Physics, Mathematics, and/or Motion Planning
• Experience with multi-agent autonomous systems
• Understanding of behavior trees
• Experience with flight systems and safety-critical functionality
• Knowledge of distributed communication networks
• Familiarity with military systems and operational tactics
