Anduril Industries is seeking a System Safety Engineer for their Land Systems team to advance the future of land-based crewed and robotic ground systems. The role involves constructing an evidence-based safety case for ground combat vehicles, leading safety analysis processes, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development and maintenance of a model-based safety case for an uncrewed ground combat system
- Own end-to-end safety analysis process from functional hazard analysis to fault tree analysis
- Identify and document risks, coordinate risk mitigation, and verify/validate mitigation measures
- Conduct safety analysis and testing to understand system behavior under heavy load
- Support design requirements process as a safety subject matter expert
- Establish fault management architectures and define system states
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years industry experience as a safety engineer or equivalent
- B.S. Degree in engineering or related technical discipline
- U.S. Person Status and eligibility for U.S. Secret clearance
- Experience with safety standards (ISO 26262, MIL-STD-882, ARP4754, ARP4761)
- Experience in conducting deductive and inductive safety analyses
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with autonomous vehicles, ADAS, or complex robotic systems
- Familiarity with UL 4600, ISO 21448, and industry autonomy standards
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, Julia)
- Field test support experience
