Apex Informatics is seeking an AWS Cloud Developer for the GTA CJEP project, a modernization initiative for the Criminal Justice Exchange Program. This role focuses on transforming a SoftwareAG solution into a Cloud Native AWS solution for data sharing between agencies, counties, and cities. The position requires expertise in AWS cloud development, particularly with services like Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3. The ideal candidate will work in a SCRUM Agile environment, developing SOAP-based web services and implementing MTOM attachments. This is a hands-on development role, not a DevOps position, with possibilities for extensions. The role offers an opportunity to work on meaningful public sector projects while utilizing cutting-edge cloud technologies. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team environment where they can apply their technical expertise in Python, AWS services, and web service technologies to deliver scalable cloud solutions.
Responsibilities For AWS Cloud Developer
- Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3
- Implement serverless architectures using AWS Lambda functions with Python
- Build and orchestrate workflows using AWS Step Functions and AWS State Machines
- Design, develop, and implement SOAP-based web services
- Create and manage custom headers for web services
- Implement MTOM attachments for efficient transmission of binary data
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and team members
- Ensure code quality, performance, and scalability
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, testing, and production environments
- Stay current with AWS services, tools, and best practices
Requirements For AWS Cloud Developer
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with XML, XSD, WSDL, and related technologies
- Experience as a software developer with cloud computing knowledge
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3)
- Proficiency in Python programming language
- Experience with AWS Step Functions and State Machines
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SCRUM framework
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
