Description For COBOL Mainframe Programmer/Developer

Apex Informatics is seeking a COBOL Mainframe Programmer/Developer for GDOL (Georgia Department of Labor). This role is specifically for their Metro Atlanta location and requires on-site presence. The position involves translating business requirements into programming solutions, maintaining custom software, and providing production support. The ideal candidate will work with COBOL programming language and JCL on IBM/DELL mainframe systems.

The role combines traditional mainframe development with modern technologies, including Java and AWS, making it an unique opportunity for someone with both legacy and contemporary technical skills. The position involves working on critical projects that include maintaining existing COBOL applications while also participating in modernization efforts to convert applications to web-based solutions.

Responsibilities For COBOL Mainframe Programmer/Developer

  • Translate analysis and design documents into well-structured programs
