Sr Data Platform Engineer

Apollo, the worldwide leader in GraphQL innovation, is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join their Platform Engineering organization. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on building a best-in-class Data practice, partnering with Data Science and engineering teams. The position involves collecting and analyzing product usage data, understanding business operations, and empowering go-to-market strategies.

The role presents unique challenges due to Apollo's diverse user base and product surface area, spanning from CLI tools to code editors and collaboration workflows. You'll work alongside talented Platform Engineers who value efficient code and forward-thinking designs. The team utilizes modern technologies including BigQuery, Airflow, Kafka, DBT, and various cloud services.

As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing large-scale data projects, creating technical designs that address efficiency and security, and improving data access across the company. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience in data platform engineering or related fields, with expertise in systems architecture and distributed systems.

The position offers competitive compensation between $157,250 - $195,000 annually, plus equity and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage. This is a remote position available to candidates in the US or Canada, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to a company that serves major clients like Netflix, Expedia, and PayPal.
