Accessories Product Design Engineer

This is a hands-on individual contributor role for an Accessories Product Design Engineer at Apple. The successful candidate will work with internal and external product development partners to create innovative accessories for Apple devices. The role involves conceiving, designing, and bringing into production products that will redefine and enhance the mobile experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Concept generation and architecture development
• Module integration and knowledge transfer to development partners
• Partnering with internal resources for testing and analysis
• Guiding development partners through custom component integration and test procedures
• Overseeing detailed engineering development and manufacturing ramp process
• Working closely with multi-functional teams including Industrial Design, Hardware Engineering, Antenna, Reliability, Safety, and Marketing

The ideal candidate will have:

• 4-7 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in consumer electronics
• Product design leadership skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Expertise in designing for various manufacturing processes
• Multi-functional design skills including mechanism design and electro-mechanical integration
• Design validation skills including tolerance analysis and failure analysis
• Flexibility to work in a rapidly changing environment
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills

This role requires domestic and international travel (15%) and offers a competitive salary range between $143,100 and $264,200, along with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth at Apple.
