Description For Analog IP Post-Silicon Validation Engineer

Join Apple's dynamic team as an Analog IP Post-Silicon Validation Engineer in a highly visible role where you'll be at the forefront of crafting the world's most premiere mobile SoCs. This position offers a rare opportunity to work on upcoming products that will impact millions of Apple customers daily. You'll be responsible for performing lab characterization and validation of various analog & mixed signal embedded circuits, working with cutting-edge technology and collaborating with multi-functional teams.

As part of a small, specialized team, you'll be involved in bench testing, debugging, and characterizing embedded on-chip circuitry including PLLs, DLLs, Clocks, Data Converters, and various I/O Interfaces. Your expertise will be crucial in developing benchtop electrical tests and automating test procedures using Python scripting. You'll work with sophisticated lab instruments and be responsible for generating comprehensive reports for characterization and debugging.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in high-speed serial links, with deep knowledge of SerDes protocols and analog & mixed signal circuitry. You'll need to demonstrate initiative in taking ownership of projects and think creatively to develop innovative solutions for lab validation challenges. Responsibilities For Analog IP Post-Silicon Validation Engineer

  • Perform lab characterization and validation of analog & mixed signal embedded circuits
  • Bench test, debug, and characterization of embedded on-chip circuitry
  • Development of benchtop electrical tests
  • Drafting & Execution of scripts to automate tests, extract results, and generate reports
  • In-system PI/SI measurements for correlation with simulation models
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams including Design, System HW, and SW
  • Supporting ATE and Product Engineering

Requirements For Analog IP Post-Silicon Validation Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical area plus 7 years of experience
  • Knowledge of SerDes design and architecture including CDR and equalization
  • Expert in lab instruments such as BERT's, High speed Oscilloscope's, Spectrum Analyzer, DAQ's
  • Excellent in scripting language, Python preferred
  • Strong fundamental understanding of analog & mixed signal circuitry
  • Very knowledgeable and experienced with common high-speed SerDes protocols (PCIe, USB, SATA, etc.)
